I love to bake. Breads, cookies, waffles, pies, coffee cake, layer cake, shortcake, cupcakes...mmmmmm. The house smells so delightful when something yummy is baking.
My daughter Emma asked if she could join the Baker's Brigade. I told her, sure. She asked what position she could have, so I appointed her High General. She's letting it get to her head.
I haven't been around the blogs much this week. Lots of drama here. But I look forward to coming around soon!

I've been baking today; brownies that have the kitchen smelling like heaven, homemade noodles for Chicken Noodle Soup and will be whipping up some Italian Cheese Bread later.
*Whisk at attention!*

I want to join too! But all I'm good at is eating...so I guess that puts me waaaay down on the low ranks, huh? Oh well, as long as I get more than just get the crumbs. :))
Your poster is aweso-goood!! XOXO
could i join too?
i could be a napper in the midst of the heavenly scents rising from your oven!
i think your daughter is quite brilliant!

I want to enlist in this brigade and like Amalia, probably I will be way down in the totem pole. I may be washing to dishes, pots and pans to pay for my keep. I think every kitchen should have this poster framed and hanging on the wall, right next to the chef clock! Hint** :) Hint** :)
P.S. What can of drama have you been having? I have been having a lot of drama here too, way too much drama indeed. Maybe we can write a soap opera.
Hey Sweetie pie!!! You whisked another great illustration!!!
TSUP! TSUP!!!
Reading my comment and the subconscious word substitutions, I may just have early stages of Alzheimer's. I think at this stage a slice of cheese cake or apple pie will cure it. :) Tsup!
Hope your drama settles down. I love this illo! Cute and clever!!
completely ADORABLE!! LOVE LOVE! xo
you are so right about the aroma from baking! the illustration is lovely. i'm totally mesmerised by the high general with the whisk!
Yummy! Wish i could sample some baker's brigade produce :) Just have too enjoy your delicious artwork instead :)
What fun! Now is this a holiday baking brigade? ;)
Are you baking Lady??? Oh my goodness now I'm gonna have to come to your house. This illustration is amazing!! I love it. I love all your work. You sure know how to capture a moment. I would love to see this on a cookie tin! Amazing!!! Sending you hugs and best wishes and much love all the time.
Best to you,
V
how fun that you gave Emma the position of High General! ;-)
Love her name too!
yum the smell of baking
yum yum
and such a cute piece of art ~
What a coincidence! I love to eat pies, cakes, cookies, and anything baked. Tell Emma I would love to be her Royal Taster. I had a craving for cherry pie today. I had to settle for a granola bar. Not the same thing at all! :) xox
Please stop by once more...just a few seconds? The poem, my response to your comment...
TSUP.
How do you make High General right off the bat? Wow!
What's left after that? Higher General? And then Still Higher General? If you are court-martialed in the kitchen will you be busted to just a common General?
I was lucky to get Chief Petty Dishwasher when I was growing up.
I'll bet your kitchen smells great.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
(That's all I can say--grin! You are simply "some kind-a Peep"!)

I want the bakery's brigade to come to my kitchen!!
The is she like a whisk of the chef? or hmmm Can't think of anything magical that rhymes with whisk and chef..
~laughing~
So sweet! Great poster for the Baking Brigade!
"Get Ready to Whisk it All", you crack me up Bella :D So cute, I am imagining the smell from your kitchen. I haven't been able to do much baking lately, other than a failed attempt at a gluten free birthday cake for Myles. It ended up in the trash, but the cupcakes the next day were yummy. Hmmm, maybe I'll go whisk up some popovers.Sorry for your drama. I hate drama. I'm a much bigger fan of quiet days and baking ;)
So sweet!Me too want to be part of the brigade:)
I will cook you anything you want for dinner, but I don't bake. Can't stand it. Don't know why because my mom always used to bake stuff and I loved it when she did... I think I don't like to measure!;)
Cutie patootie picture. :)
super pun! ;)
wunderbra! nothing like an early promotion to high general :)
This is just too funny! Love the take on the topic (and I always love your characters).
I wish I can invite myself in your kitchen , dear Bella :)))
Wonderful annonce!! Smells like cinnamon and vanilla:))
This is a wonderful interpretation... High General, sounds pretty great! Of course the girls will be high on it! The name sounds great too :)
Yay for Emma! High General indeed. I tell you, Bella, your house must be the house that all the kids in the neighborhood wanna rush into. My friend has one of those houses and I tell you, she is quite popular around the holidays and school festivals and such when baking is in high order. I would like a piece of the shortcake please. : ) When you come over, I'll whip up a lemon pound cake and I'll put a pot o' tea on. We'll have Ces over, too. Perhaps some napoleons? But of course. I just LOVE your sweet Baker-gal..watch out for that whisk, everyone...she's in charge! Love it! Hope your drama starts settlin' and you can get on with some holiday cheer and baking with your little ones. Hugs to you!
HAAAAAAHOOOOO!! You are SO funny, Bella. I would like to see you try to squeeze your head into the tiny house. Thanks for the chuckle! Yes, lemon pound cake coming up. My friend set me up with the most delicious recipe and it's crazy good. : ) Thank you for your sweet words about my little house..if you do download it, I hope it finds a nice little spot near the kitchen...for all of your yummy baked good smells. : )
Haha, adorable and hilarious! Beautiful lettering and I love that background pattern. I hope Emma takes her High General position as seriously as it warrants!
Hi Bella
How are you? nice coming to see all your lovely drawing. love to see your girl play a big part of your drawings. Keep drawing and baking, writing..
Hi Bella,
Good for the High General! and you will be happy to have a baker in the family.
I have a wonderful smell wafting from my kitchen, have just baked banana chocolate muffins and Christmas mince pies.
Hugs
Carolyn

Is that the high general yielding said whisky whisk?
She is one not to be reckoned with and is still completely adorable at the same time.
I would happily sous chef for her any day.
hope you and the girls have the merriest of christmases, bella :)
